Job Seeking! Facilities and maintenance officer!

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Facilities & Maintenance Officer to ensure our buildings are maintained to an exceptional standard of cleanliness, safety, and organisation. You will oversee day-to-day upkeep, manage inventory, handle post-event cleaning for hall lettings and private functions, and maintain comprehensive compliance and maintenance records.
Key Responsibilities
• Building Cleanliness & Upkeep: Ensure all buildings, communal areas, and facilities are consistently maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation throughout the day.
• Event Turnaround & Cleaning: Perform thorough cleaning, waste removal, and resetting of halls and function spaces immediately following lettings, community events, and private functions.
• Stock & Inventory Management: Regularly check and audit stock levels for cleaning supplies, washroom amenities, and facilities equipment, placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Conduct routine safety checks, risk assessments, and hazard identification to ensure the premises meet all regulatory standards.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and digital logs for all health and safety inspections, equipment maintenance schedules, repairs, and contractor visits.
What We Are Looking For
• Experience: Background in facilities management, commercial cleaning, housekeeping, or property maintenance.
• Compliance Knowledge: Basic understanding of health and safety regulations, COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health), and workplace safety protocols.
• Organisational Skills: Exceptional attention to detail with strong record-keeping abilities and experience managing stock inventories.
• Work Ethic & Flexibility: A hands-on, proactive attitude with the physical capability to handle cleaning duties and the flexibility to work varying hours to cover private functions and events.
