Our History
The development trust was originally started in 2005 as a response to demands from local people in Barmulloch. They wanted to see the original Quarrywood Road Tenants Hall developed into a modern purpose-built community centre.
The company quickly became an anchor organisation in the local area and has grown in scale and scope in what it offers. Through support from the Scottish Land Fund it purchased the Broomfield Road Centre from the Archdiocese of Glasgow and the Recreation Hall from the Glasgow Presbytery in 2016.
After many years of hard work, in 2017 the local community finally opened the doors on the new £1.7m Residents Centre, situated on the original site of the Tenants Hall at 54 Quarrywood Road. We now employ 14 local members of staff and welcome over 1000 people per week into our premises for a range of activities.
All of this is thanks to the hard work and dedication of local people in the community. The decision to become a development trust was pioneering at the time and our business model has proven an effective way of bringing economic regeneration and community development to Barmulloch and beyond.
We have several exciting new opportunities that we are working with partners to deliver in the near future. Follow our social media to stay up to date.
