PARKS FOR PEOPLE
Here in Barmulloch, Balornock and Robroyston, we are blessed with plenty of green spaces. They should be the green hearts of our communities. But they need tender loving care & new thinking to achieve their potential.
Thanks to funding from the City Council secured by BCDC in 2024, we as a community have a great opportunity to decide what we want our green spaces to be like.
Over the last few months, we’ve been asking local people in Barmulloch, Balornock and Robroyston what they want their parks and green spaces to be like. The two main parks are Robroyston Park and Broomfield Park, and there are other smaller green spaces too.
Thank you to everybody who came along and shared their ideas and opinions at the drop-in sessions in February, held at BCDC, the Brunswick Centre, Balornock Bowling Club and Wallacewell Primary. And thank you too to those who took part in other sessions at Wallacewell Day Centre, All Saints Secondary, Balornock Primary, Barmulloch Primary and Beatroute Arts between November and March.
We’ve now reached the exciting moment where everyone’s ideas have been brought together in a draft Plan.
The question is – does the draft Plan reflect what the community wants?
Check out the draft Plan here: bit.ly/BRparksforpeople
Then let us know what you think about it here: bit.ly/BRdraftPlan
Please share your thoughts on the draft Plan by Wednesday 30th April. Remember, the Plan can still change based on your comments.

After the closing dates, the draft Plan will be amended in the light of everyone’s comments. Our two Community Councils, Wallacewell and Robroyston, will then agree the final Plan and submit it to the City Council for registration as our community’s “Local Place Plan”.
